Patient Information
Everything you need before your first visit
No surprises, no ambiguity. Here is exactly how appointments work at Happy Smiles Dental, from paperwork to payment.
Your first appointment
Seventy-five minutes that set the direction of your care
A comprehensive new-patient visit is deliberately longer than a routine check-up, because a good baseline saves years of guesswork.
- 01
Records and history
Medical and dental history review, digital X-rays as needed, intraoral photographs, and an oral cancer screening.
- 02
Comprehensive exam
Dr. Zadov evaluates every tooth, your gums, bite, joints, and existing restorations, and shows you the findings on screen.
- 03
Plan and cleaning
You receive a written plan with priorities and costs. If your gums are healthy, a cleaning is completed the same day.
What to bring
- Photo identification
- Dental insurance card or member details
- A current list of medications and dosages
- Relevant medical history and physician contact
- Recent X-rays from a previous dentist, if available
- Any questions or concerns written down
Appointments and policies
We build our schedule around realistic appointment lengths so patients are seen near their reserved time. In return, we ask for two business days' notice if you need to change an appointment.
Payment is due at the time of service for the patient portion. We will always provide a written estimate before treatment begins, and our team verifies your benefits in advance so the estimate is accurate.
Urgent problems are triaged by phone and given same-day time whenever possible. See our emergency dentistry page for first-aid guidance while you are on the way.
Comfort and accessibility
- Longer appointment blocks for anxious patients
- Agreed stop signals and unlimited breaks
- Topical numbing before every injection
- Blankets, headphones, and neck support
- Ground-floor access and accessible parking

Patient questions
What should I bring to my first appointment?+
Photo ID, your dental insurance card, a list of current medications, and the name and contact of your physician if you have significant medical history. If you have recent X-rays from another office, ask them to forward the files.
How early should I arrive?+
Ten to fifteen minutes early if you are completing forms in the office. If you complete them in advance, arriving five minutes early is plenty.
What is your cancellation policy?+
We ask for at least two business days' notice so the time can be offered to someone waiting. Repeated short-notice cancellations may require a reservation deposit for future appointments.
Do you treat patients with dental anxiety?+
Yes, routinely. Tell us when you book. We can schedule a consultation with no treatment, agree on a stop signal, plan longer appointments, and discuss comfort options before we begin.
Can I bring my children to my own appointment?+
You are welcome to, though we recommend scheduling family appointments together when possible so someone is always free to supervise.
Ready for a calmer kind of dental visit?
New patients are welcome. Tell us what you need and we'll find a time that fits your week.
