Family Dentistry
One practice for every age in your household
Toddlers, teenagers, working adults, and grandparents can all be seen at Happy Smiles Dental — often on the same morning, in the same building, with one shared record.
Care that adapts as your family changes
Family dentistry is not a single service; it is a set of priorities that shift with age. A three-year-old needs a positive first experience and a fluoride varnish. A twelve-year-old needs sealants and an honest conversation about the sugary drinks in a sports bag. An adult needs early detection of gum disease and protection of existing restorations. A seventy-year-old needs attention to dry mouth, root-surface decay, and the longevity of older crowns and bridges.
We plan for those transitions instead of reacting to them, which is the quiet advantage of staying with one practice for years.
Consolidated appointments for busy households
Two children and a parent can frequently be scheduled back to back or side by side, turning three separate trips into one. For working families in Port St. Lucie, that logistical detail is often the difference between consistent care and a missed year.
We also keep the entire family's history in one chart, which means patterns — inherited enamel characteristics, shared dietary habits, orthodontic timing — are easier to spot and address.
Anxiety is taken seriously here
Many adults avoid the dentist because of an experience they had as a child. We work hard to prevent the next generation from inheriting that. Children are shown instruments before they are used, told what will happen in plain words, and never rushed.
Adults with dental anxiety are welcome to schedule a consultation with no treatment at all, agree on a stop signal, and take breaks whenever they need them.

Frequently asked questions
At what age should my child first see a dentist?+
Within six months of the first tooth appearing and no later than the first birthday. Early visits are short, gentle, and largely about building comfort and reviewing habits.
Can my whole family be seen on the same day?+
Usually yes. Let our front desk know when you call and we will group appointments as closely as the schedule allows.
Do you take X-rays at every visit?+
No. Imaging frequency is based on individual risk. Many low-risk adults need bitewing X-rays only every eighteen to twenty-four months.
What if my child is frightened?+
We slow down. A first visit can be nothing more than sitting in the chair, counting teeth, and leaving happy. Trust is worth more than a completed cleaning.
